Commission Purpose
On November 4, Governor Wes Moore announced the reconstitution of the Governor’s Redistricting Advisory Commission.
This bipartisan commission has historically taken up efforts every ten years to organize public hearings and make legislative and congressional redistricting recommendations to the Governor and Maryland General Assembly.
As states around the country have begun the process to redistrict Congressional seats in the middle of the census cycle, Governor Moore has asked the commission to engage Marylanders across the state, receive public comment, and provide recommendations to ensure our Congressional maps are representative and fair.
The Governor's Redistricting Advisory Commission voted to forward Map #37 for consideration. House Bill 488 was introduced on January 23, 2026. Information on the bill can be found here There are no further meetings currently scheduled for the Commission.
